Hello again from ERO Insider, your source for the news you need from the world of electric reliability! It’s been another busy week for our correspondents, so let’s check in on their work.
NERC CEO Jim Robb addressed the ERO’s Member Representatives Committee after a “whirlwind week” in the electric industry that saw multiple energy-focused executive orders from President Trump. Holden Mann has more on Robb’s remarks, which confirmed that the ERO is working with the Department of Energy on its obligations under the White House’s directives. (See Robb: NERC Working with DOE on Energy Orders.)
The ERO’s Board of Trustees has voted to approve its latest cold weather standard, ending a development process that Chair Suzanne Keenan acknowledged contained “a lot of firsts.” Follow the link to learn more about the final version of the standard and trustees’ thoughts over the journey that brought it here. (See NERC Board Approves Cold Weather Standard.)
Staff from the Texas Reliability Entity stepped up with advice for newly registered entities concerned about their compliance obligations in a webinar this week. Click through for their tips on the most common sources of noncompliance for new entities and how to prevent them. (See Texas RE Offers Compliance Help for New Registrants.)
That’s going to do it for this week, but we’ll be here all next week with the latest from the ERO Enterprise and beyond. We’ll see you back again on Friday with another exciting email, so have a great week, and don’t forget about your income taxes if you haven’t taken care of them yet!
