Welcome to NetZero Insider’s latest Resources Intelligence Report.

James Downing breaks down a new analysis by the National Electric Manufacturers Association projecting U.S. electrical demand will grow 50% in the next quarter century. Data centers are expected to account for much of that growth at first, NEMA said, with transportation gradually accounting for a greater share in subsequent years.

In California, David Krause has the details on a report about generating energy through tides and waves along the state’s shore. The California Energy Commission concludes, however, that despite its considerable length, the coastline holds only modest potential, and that the most promising sites are well away from populated areas.

We also have our regular collection of coverage gleaned from other sources:

  • Geothermal power continues to be a subject of interest for writers — The Hill and The Atlantic have supportive pieces.

  • Canary Media reports that offshore work has begun — with very little fanfare — for a new wind farm off the New York coast, despite President Trump’s efforts to shut the industry out of U.S. waters.

All this and much more is gathered in this week’s Intelligence Report.
